DURANGO WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE EASY.

Harsh land

In the wild heart of Durango, at Rancho El Ojo in the Malpaís region, rugged terrain and extreme climates shape the character of the land. Here, wild cenizo agave thrives against all odds, drawing strength from volcanic soil and dry winds—creating the perfect conditions for crafting mezcal with depth, resilience, and soul.

Mezcal in Durango is born from land shaped by time and fire. At Rancho El Ojo, beneath the silent presence of the inactive Maika volcano, volcanic stone and mineral-rich soil define every step of our craft. Our mezcales are 100% artisanal—slow-cooked in underground conical ovens lined with volcanic rock, milled, fermented, and distilled with patience. Each bottle carries the essence of Durango’s territory, where tradition and landscape become one.

THIS IS THIS IS NOT WHERE MEZCAL WAS MADE FAMOUS.

THIS IS WHERE IT REMAINED REAL.
